Stefanie Pullin approaches the natural world in a contemporary and distinctive way. Green and and its variations have been key in Pullin’s work, a direct reference to the vegetation of the forests of Guatemala where she was born.
In this series of works, Pullin takes inspiration from geological formations in both the Atlas Mountains of Morocco and the cliffs the Alentejan Coast of Portugal. Departing to different colour tones than her usual greens, this new work takes tones and shapes from a world shaped by the natural elements.
Pullin maintains aspects of the technique she has been researching and practicing throughout her career. Her brushstrokes present fictional images in a diffused and unfocused manner, while highlighting the scale, verticality and the grandiosity of these geological formations in a constant state of evolution through erosion.
This diptyque by Stefanie Pullin uses mixed media on canvas.
